Dr. Wendell Point
Founder 

Dr. Wendell Point was responsible for the daily management of $100 Million plus small business inclusion programs from conception to project close-out. Dr. Point also serves as the DBE/SBE/MBE Program Manager for the Coalfield Expressway/Route 460 GEC, the Roanoke Regional Airports renovation, the Purple Line Transit Partners team, as well as the Civil Rights Task Manager for the Transform I-66 General Engineering Consultant (GEC) team. Moreover, Dr. Point serves as the DBE Program Manager for Fluor Lane 95, LLC, which was awarded the 2014 VDOT “Prime Contractor of the Year.” The combined small business spend on these projects exceeds $1.3 Billion and counting!

Niambi Jarvis, JD
Chief Operating Officer

Niambi joins the Point Management Group as the Chief Operating Officer.  Niambi has a  track record of success in managing programs to address diversity and equality issues. Her background includes procuring and overseeing multi-million dollar government contracts, developing work plans and budgets, leading cross-functional project teams, and evaluating programs for compliance with Federal standards. She  has led global cross functional teams working on commercially sensitive technology product launches for Fortune 50/Global 2000 firms.  Niambi is a graduate of the Women's Campaign School at Yale University and holds a BA in Spanish and Marketing and a Juris Doctorate from Howard University.

Rickey Rodgers
Senior Consultant

Rickey identifies and mentors Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MBE/DBE) competing for work on transportation infrastructure projects, including the Purple Line Rail public/private venture.  Rickey recently retired after years of service in the United States Air Force.  His leadership and management skills were honed while second-in-command of the Air Force’s only stealth bomber Wing.  In this role, he was delegated responsibility for over 3,000 personnel and assets valued at $44 billion.  He also managed an annual operating budget of over $65.6 million.

Valerie Murphy Point
Vice President

Valerie Murphy Point joins the Point Management Group as the Vice President and workforce development consultant. Valerie is a motivated, results-driven leader with extensive experience across multiple industries including education, management, marketing, retail, and counseling.  She brings over 20 years of experience in executive-level management, organization & business development, budget administration, communications, training, client management, corporate teaming, job readiness training, and human resources.  Valerie holds a degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary.

Ken Murray, Ph.D
Consultant

Dr. Ken Murray joined Point Management Group as a specialist in state and local government policy, organizational design and development, and operational and business process assessment. He has served for 43 years as a public manager, a university associate professor, and a management consultant for the last fifteen years.  Ken is a highly skilled expert in many areas of performance management, including workforce structure and analysis, organizational design, information technology, and statistical methodology in operations research.

Doug Osterman
Senior Civil Rights Inspector

Douglas Osterman joins PMG as a Senior Civil Rights Inspector who brings 3 years of Inspector experience with VDOT working with both the DBE/SWaM and the prime contractor community. He worked as a US Army combat engineer for 3 years, 3 years as Motor Transportation Company Platoon Sergeant and Trainer, 14 years in the Communications Field, 5 years as a Field Recruiter, and the last 10 Years as Recruiting Operations Manager handling daily operations, Training and Budgets.

Tomi Adeleke, Esq.
Consultant

Tomi Adeleke joins the Point Management Group as a consultant. She has experience in the transportation industry with the state of Virginia overseeing multi-million dollar projects and providing guidance to DBEs and SWAMs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. She also brings extensive knowledge in Title VI, labor and employment, and contractual matters and has conducted training to project managers, municipalities, and consultants. Tomi holds a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany and a JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She is also licensed to practice law in California.

Shay Ponquinette
Senior Strategic Advisor

Shay serves as PMG's Senior Strategic Advisor.  She is supports DBEs with achieving their growth plans and advising US DOT funded agencies with best practices for meeting statutory goals and requirements.  As the former VDOT Civil Rights Assistant Director of External Programs, Shay was responsible for operational and programmatic activities related to Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Disadvantaged Business Program, EEO Contractor Compliance, Labor Compliance, On-the-Job Training, Supportive Services, and Wounded Veterans.

Durwin Lairy
Event Planning

Durwin Lairy is a Program Management and Event Planning Consultant know for his outstanding leadership skills and his ability to provide practical and strategic management and guidance to planning teams for internal and external events, conferences, and other business functions. He an Arkansas State University alumnus, he has built an impeccable reputation and a successful career in developing and implementing strategic plans, designing and launching effective political campaigns, and achieving record-breaking goals and results. He has planned and executed several events for many high-level political principals including, but not limited to, President Obama, First Lady Obama, President Clinton, and Secretary Clinton, along with many other dignitaries.

Jennifer Vetter
Strategic Marketing

Jennifer joins Point Management Group as a strategic marketing and business development specialist.  Jennifer’s qualifications include over 10 years of marketing and communications, sales, training and support, event planning, and database management in both the private and not-for-profit sectors. Jennifer specializes in creating, implementing, and managing processes, systems, people and standards to support the growth of small businesses with an emphasis on developing collaborative relationships. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communication from the State University of New York at Albany.

Jamie Ricks
Budget Analyst

Jamie Ricks is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a Bachelors' Degrees in Accounting and Information Systems. She completed the VCU Leaders Engaging in Advance Discovery (LEAD) program, which is a program that develops students’ leadership skills through classroom, community, and professional settings. She is a volunteer administrative/research assistant at VCU Medical Center. Jamie was a leader contact person for a committee in the LEAD program. She is involved in numerous of organizations and leadership roles in the community. Jamie has also earned an Associates of Science’s Degree in Business Administration from John Tyler Community College.

Della Freeman
DBE Field Consultant

Della Freeman serves as PMG's lead DBE Field Consultant.  Her extensive experience in the construction and transportation industries is leveraged by our clients for onsite inspections and reviews. With over 25 years of construction and trucking experience, her expertise is in area of Commercially Useful Function (CUF) and contractor relations.  In addition, she brings real-world experience to our one-on-one business development technical assistance sessions with DBE firms participating in business growth and sustainability programs.

Khalid Gross
Consultant

Kimberly Alston serves as PMG’s Workforce Consultant in our Durham, North Carolina office.  Most recently, Kimberly spent 12 years specializing in curriculum development, and guidance and education counseling with a specialization in serving at-risk students. She also brings over 10 years of project management, hospitality and human resources management experience with specializations in strategic planning, training, and staff development as well as recruitment. Kimberly holds a BS in Sociology from North Carolina Central University as well as an MS in Agency Community Counseling and MS in School Counseling.  She is also certified as an Emotional Intelligence Quotient Coach who helps clients develop, expand and achieve their potential leading to overall success with their business structure.


 

Khalid is assigned to develop programs and initiatives that support the growth of small businesses.  His previous work experience includes: work with NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Urban Policy Specialist for the City of New Orleans; Adjunct Professor in the Business and Technology Division at Delgado Community College; and, Policy and Programs Manager for the City of New Orleans. He developed and implemented BuildNOLA, the City of New Orleans’ Small Business Training Program, designed to increase contractor’s organizational and financial capacities.   He holds a B.A. from Morehouse College and an M.S. in Management from the University of Maryland University College.

Workforce Development Consultant

Darrell Gilchrist brings his passion for managing workforce development initiatives to the Point Management Group team.   Over 8 years within the service industry, Darrell has helped to develop reputable relationships with many local private/public business leaders throughout North Carolina and the southeast. Darrell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from North Carolina Central University. In addition to his work-related projects, he is an advocate for transitioning of displaced low-income households.  He also serves on PMG's Corporate Social Responsibility committee to support local residents in communities where PMG manages programs.
